Based in Kilkenny, DCCI currently have 62 member organisations and over 3,500 registered clients, it promotes the commercial development of the design and craft sectors in Ireland. To further support the growth and development of the design and craft sector, DCCI has recently launched its new Design & Crafts Council Ireland Academy (DCCIA) in Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny. In anticipation of the imminent opening of the DCCIA, we are seeking an ambitious, driven Education Centre Manager who will be responsible for the day today operation of the Academy and will help lead and guide its activities into the future.

THE ROLE

Based in Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny, the Education Centre Manager will play a key role in the delivery and implementation of a cohesive and unified education and craft skills training programme for the sector.  Reporting to the Head of Craft and Education, the role involves dealing with a wide range of stakeholders in the further and higher education and training sector including regular engagement with senior managers in ETBs; HEIs; SOLAS; the Department of Further and Higher Education, Skills and Innovation; leaders in industry; education and training lecturers, practitioners and learners.


THE PERSON

You possess relevant experience, ideally in the further and higher education sector or similar, coupled with a good knowledge and understanding of QQI quality processes and criteria as applied to further education. You have good experience in programme development, curriculum design and assessment in developing industry responsive training solutions up to Level 8/9. Some knowledge of relevant National Further and Higher Education Strategy and Policy, along with an awareness of wider institutional and sectoral policies and priorities is desirable. You will be able to demonstrate a track record of people/stakeholder management skills in addition to excellent communication skills. You possess appropriate academic and/or professional qualifications related to the principal role accountabilities.
