THE ORGANISATION

Vision Ireland the national sight loss agency, is a not-for-profit charitable organisation which provides support and services nationwide to people experiencing sight loss. It provides a variety of services to support and improve accessibility to people who are living with sight loss ranging from emotional support and counselling to employment support and rehabilitation training. The group employs approximately 390 staff throughout Ireland in a wide range of roles and functional areas.  Its growing chain of 132 plus retail shops across the country, with their strong network of 800 volunteers in addition to the Vision Ireland Foundation raise vitally needed funds annually to maintain service provision at existing levels. To support its growth plans and change agenda, both organisationally and strategically, Vision Ireland is seeking to appoint an accomplished individual to serve as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO).    

THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFO will be responsible for all aspects of the financial operations for the organisation. The CFO provides accounting, budgetary and operational support to all Vision Ireland Services and Retail/Foundation activities. A key member of the Senior Management Team, the CFO will also help to deliver and drive forward Vision Ireland’s strategic vision and mission for the future.

THE PERSON

This role offers an exciting opportunity for an outstanding candidate with excellent interpersonal, communication, analytic ability and organisational skills. Whilst exceptional financial management experience will be a prerequisite for this role; the successful candidate will demonstrate an excellent understanding of the not-for-profit sector with a strong track record of effective engagement working at senior level, delivering discernible benefits and results. Previous experience in a commercial retail or fundraising environment or public sector environment is highly desirable.
