THE ORGANISATION

The Residential Tenancies Board (RTB) is an independent public body that regulates Ireland’s rental sector. It works to deliver a fair rental system for everyone in Ireland. In its role, it:

• Informs tenants and landlords about their rights and responsibilities.

• Ensures landlords register tenancies and follow rental law.

• Helps to resolve tenancy disputes.

• Provides trusted data and insights to inform rental sector policy.

The RTB regulates all private, Approved Housing Body, cost rental and student specific accommodation tenancies in Ireland. It operates under the auspices of the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.

The RTB is committed to delivering quality services that make the rental sector fairer and easier to navigate. Having recently appointed its new Director, the RTB is now embarking on a period of significant change. In order to support its change agenda, the RTB is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Director, Data Services & Technology (at Principal Officer level). This is a new and exciting role which will focus on leading the RTB’s ICT function to deliver strategic digital development and manage digital transformation across the organisation.

THE ROLE

This newly established position will be critical in advancing the RTB’s digital and technological objectives by fostering innovation and ensuring robust security measures. Reporting to the RTB Director, the Deputy Director, Data Services & Technology, will possess extensive expertise in enterprise application development to provide strategic leadership in digital advancements and technology initiatives. Staying current on technological trends, optimising vendor management, ensuring compliance with security standards, and cultivating a culture of innovation within the team are essential aspects of this role.


THE PERSON

You are an IT professional with considerable ICT/Digital leadership skills, including strategic problem-solving and leadership in a similar role within a fast-paced technology, public sector, or business environment. You have a track record of spearheading new digital systems, managing end-to-end implementations, and optimising legacy technologies coupled with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. You will possess a demonstrable track record of achievement and will possess strong programme, project and people management abilities together with developed digital transformation competencies.

Appropriate academic and/or professional qualifications related to the principal role accountabilities are required.
