The Co-Op operates across three main business areas: Dairy, Agri and Home & Garden retail stores.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be an integral part of the Co-op’s Management Team and will contribute strongly to the development and delivery of strategic plans. The appointed person will ensure that all elements of financial performance are optimised, enabling delivery on operational targets and on longer term strategic goals. As leader of the Finance Team, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure commercial success.


THE PERSON

This position requires a strategic leader of exceptional calibre who will direct the financial activities of Centenary Thurles Co-op overall, and who will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Management Team, and the Board of Directors to achieve results. The CFO will lead the Finance Team and will be responsible for setting the objectives of the Team to align with the Co-op’s strategic vision and goals. Candidates will possess strong financial and commercial acumen and must have a proven track record, ideally in a relevant industry. Previous experience in the Agri sector is not a requirement. The appointee will have excellent inter-personal skills and communication abilities. Membership of a recognised professional accountancy body is required, in addition to a primary level degree qualification in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
