THE ORGANISATION

Certa Ireland is a wholly owned subsidiary of DCC plc and is part of the Energy Division of the Group. The company is one of Ireland’s leading home heating oil, commercial fuel and agricultural diesel suppliers. Certa operates Ireland’s largest network of pay@pump retail forecourts, as well as several other divisions including fuel card services, lubricants and a recently acquired solar panel business. THE ROLE

Reporting to the Managing Director, Certa Ireland, and as a key member of the Leadership Team, the Commercial Director will provide strategic leadership and direction to the commercial functions of Certa Ireland, ensuring optimal cross-company performance of all activities associated with Sales, Marketing and Pricing. The appointed person will work closely with the MD and the Leadership Team to define and deliver on appropriate strategies to maximise revenue and increase profitability across all in-scope sales channels. The Commercial Director will design and manage the Certa customer proposition and will act as the custodian of the Certa brand to ensure a growing market share and brand recognition. They will lead, manage and motivate an inclusive and diverse commercial team, role model the Certa values and drive positive change.


THE PERSON

This position requires an inspirational commercial leader with an outstanding track record of achievement within a relevant organisation. A strategic thinker with an ambitious mindset, the appointed person will demonstrate significant abilities in achieving enhanced commercial performance in a services-based business, with discernible results. The successful candidate will possess a significant understanding of the opportunities and challenges that exist within Ireland’s energy sector. Exceptional stakeholder management and analytical abilities are essential. A strong track record of demonstrated senior leadership skills, leading, and managing people through change. Ability to lead and inspire a diverse team with demonstrated leadership skills.

A relevant 3rd level qualification is required with a master’s degree or equivalent preferred.
