Chief Executive Officer, Health and Safety Authority (HSA)

THE ORGANISATION

The Health and Safety Authority has a wide and varied regulatory mandate which includes acting as the national body with responsibility for occupational health and safety, market surveillance of industrial products and chemicals and acting as the national accreditation body for Ireland through the Irish National Accreditation Board.

THE ROLE

We are currently growing and transforming our organisation and are looking for a dynamic, committed and experienced person to be our Chief Executive Officer.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will collaborate with the Board and staff to lead and oversee the implementation of the Authority’s strategic priorities and objectives, while fulfilling its broad legislative responsibilities. The role also involves engaging with both national and international stakeholders and providing advice to the Minister and the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment (DETE).

The CEO is accountable for cultivating and sustaining effective external relationships with social partners and the wider community throughout Ireland. Demonstrating personal drive and dedication, the successful candidate will be responsible for advancing occupational safety, health and welfare, chemical safety, and accreditation across the country.

This position represents a significant senior leadership opportunity at a national level, requiring an exceptional individual with a demonstrated record of achievement in leadership and delivery within a complex, multi-disciplinary professional organisation. Relevant experience may be derived from either the public or private sector. Remuneration for the role will be in line with public sector policy and will reflect the seniority of the role.
