Headquartered in Dublin, EAI represents its members across the Island of Ireland with strong messaging, advocacy and policy formulation.
THE ROLE
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead the Electricity Association of Ireland and position it as the authoritative voice of the electricity sector within the Single Electricity Market area. In doing so s/he will have a clear vision for the industry and, under the direction of the Board, will develop and execute a focused strategy that ensures the value of electricity and the interests of the sector are understood and supported. The CEO will represent the organisation at relevant fora and lead the promotion of substantive EAI contributions to policy and regulatory debates. To this end, the CEO will implement appropriate all-island communications and influencing strategies and will engage dynamically with principal stakeholders and media at local, regional, and European levels.
With the Board, the CEO will lead the organisation’s commitment to a sector wide consensus approach by encouraging an appropriate view of issues affecting the membership both now and in the future. The CEO will lead, motivate and manage the staff of the Secretariat and operate an effective structure of expertise aligned with the mission, vision and values of the Association. The CEO will lead operations by ensuring that effective controls, policies and procedures are in place to fulfil legal and regulatory obligations.
THE PERSON
EAI is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional as its Chief Executive Officer to develop and implement the Association’s next strategy. The successful candidate will be a strategic, externally focused leader that has a strong knowledge and understanding of the electricity sector and related energy policy at regulatory, governmental and EU levels and a clear vision of the role the sector will play in the energy transition.
Our next CEO will possess credibility and proven influencing skills with senior stakeholders, both internal and external, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
You will be of the highest personal integrity with experience of compliance, administration and budgetary management. As a key agent of change you will demonstrate initiative, strong people management and mentoring capabilities and an established ability to reconcile the interests of a diverse membership.
The successful candidate will possess a third level qualification in a relevant discipline, and a leadership/management qualification will be an advantage.
