THE ORGANISATION

As an enterprise support agency, the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) aims to create the infrastructure for Ireland’s products and services to be recognised and relied upon globally. Our ambition is to support innovation for a safer better future for enterprise and citizens alike. As NSAI operates at the intersection of scientific measurement and government policy, our work is constantly evolving, and as the global challenges of climate change, new technologies and international trade also evolve, the role of standards has never been more apparent. Where a standard already exists, NSAI works with businesses to help them apply it.  Where a standard may be needed, NSAI will work with relevant parties at national or international level to create and develop the appropriate standard.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Strategy & Corporate Services will be part of the NSAI senior leadership team and as such, will make a significant contribution to defining the organisation’s strategic direction. The appointed person will have responsibility for leading a range of corporate functions, including Legal, Finance, ICT and Marketing, and will act as Secretary to the NSAI Board and as liaison with the Department of Enterprise Trade & Employment. This is a key position with responsibility for planning, leading and driving change across NSAI through a series of initiatives that are fully aligned with the organisation’s strategic objectives, as set out in the NSAI Strategic Plan (2022-2026).

THE PERSON

This position requires an outstanding leader who has previously held a senior strategic leadership role in a services-based organisation. Possessing a Level 8 NFQ qualification (or higher), in Management, Business, Law or other relevant discipline, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 7 years’ experience at a senior management level, leading on the development and successful implementation of strategic change programmes, whilst continuing to drive high quality service delivery in a complex environment. The appointed person will possess exemplary strategic planning, organisational and interpersonal skills.
