MDE possesses the highest Standard Safe-T-Cert Grade A, along with having ISO 9001 and 14001 accreditations, it has successfully completed projects across a wide range of sectors including Metering, Waste Water Treatment, Retail, Healthcare, Education, Infrastructure, Commercial and Industrial, Utilities and Infrastructure Upgrades. To support its significant investments and business strategy, the Board of MDE is seeking to appoint a Director of Business Development to help lead the organisation into the next stage of its development.


THE ROLE

Reporting to the MDE Board, the Director of Business Development will build and deliver on an innovative sales and commercial strategy for the Organisation as well as leading and managing the development of tenders and proposals to win profitable business. They will achieve targeted revenue and profit growth levels across a breadth of business areas in addition to improving service delivery and cross-selling opportunities amongst existing and new clients.


THE PERSON

This position requires a robust, highly collaborative and self-motivated sales executive with strong commercial acumen and a proven track record in leading and implementing commercial and sales strategies at a senior level, ideally in a relevant industry. The successful candidate will be a clear decision maker with excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal communication skills across all channels. They will be a highly competent contributor with an affinity for continuous improvement. Experience of negotiating significant commercial deals is required. An understanding of the electrical contracting sector is highly desirable, but not essential.

A competitive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate.
